This position is part of the European side of the business and is an essential link with the US Finance Team, as well as acting as the finance functions for the brands and the commercial teams.
With clear leadership, this company have an ethos of creating effective partnerships both internally and externally, and you will build and maintain strong relationships with all European licencees and external stakeholders such as auditors, banks etc as well as being a finance partner with various areas of the business internally including marketing and legal
Despite the high-profile, international nature of their business, the company has an exceptionally personal SME feel, and this role will work very closely with the highly credible, knowledgeable and supportive senior leadership team.
Given the size of the European finance function, you will need to have a pragmatic approach to hands-on, day-to-day requirements, whilst also demonstrating a commercial attitude, providing analysis and an awareness of the ‘bigger picture’.
To this end, the business have regular meetings to discuss current and future contracts, ensuring you are fully engaged with success and challenges faced by the wider team and not just the Finance Department.
Key to your success will be your technical competence, your attitude and your ethic.
As well as the management and financial accounting requirements, the day-to-day duties are very much focused on revenue reporting and invoicing.
Therefore, you will be heavily involved in the transactional elements of the business such as AR, sales reporting, month end tasks and annual revenue budgeting.
This role will also oversee the daily business bank accounts in various currencies, manage cashflow on a daily basis and taking responsibility for the accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial information to the US Office.
About You
* You need to have relevant experience within an understanding of financial statements prepared under UK GAAP
* You will need to have a background demonstrating a commercial focus and an awareness of the bigger picture.
* An SME and/or ‘can-do’, hands-on mindset.
* A background within a licencing environment would help accelerate the learning process.
* Knowledge of contracts would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Strong communication skills and an ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
Based in modern and well positioned offices in the West End, this role offers hybrid working and an opportunity to develop strong relationships with many of the senior stakeholders of the business.
