This role will play a fundamental part in helping the business to write the next chapter of the this growth story.

The Role

The main purpose of this role is to support the Senior Leadership Team and the wider Finance Department with the day to day requirements
Reporting to the highly engaging CFO, you will oversee the management and financial accounting functions as well as the transactional teams.

Therefore, your ability to coach, manage and develop is a key factor. This also applies to your ability to engage, and communicate effectively with, stakeholders at varying levels as well.

Importantly, you will need that well-known blend on being strategic, recognising the ‘bigger picture’ and also have a hands on approach.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Ownership of month end processes to ensure timely and accurate accounts
• Ownership of the monthly Management Accounts and supporting schedules
• Ownership of the overheads budget, forecast and actuals
• Provide month-end commentary for the board packs
• Ensure VAT compliance and timely submission to HMRC
• Review of cashflow planning and forecasting and highlighting working capital requirements
• Initiate process improvements and efficiencies throughout the finance function
• Recruit, train, support and develop the finance team
• Provide support for year- end audits and to be the key liaison with the external auditors
• Review year-end statutory accounts for all individual companies as well as the Group consolidation
• Engage with stakeholders across the wider business
• Support the Finance Director with the wider Finance strategy and ad hoc tasks

The exposure will be varied, interesting and challenging.

If you have the communication skills to deal effectively with non-finance contacts at all levels, to be strategic and see the bigger picture, whilst also being prepared to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and get involved in the day-to-day, then this could be an ideal match

  • You will be a Qualified Accountant with 3+ years PQE
  • Experience in multisite, multi revenue-stream environments
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring financial data is summarised in a logical way and targeted to the relevant audience
  • Strong I.T. Skills
  • A positive and collaborative approach with a ‘hard working’ ethos and ‘can do’ mentality
  • A history of assisting process improvements and controls
