Do you want to work for a highly respected business who are the market-leader in their field across the EMEA region?

With this exceptionally strong foothold within their sector, a superb proven product, a clear identity and a track record of delivering consistency, they are now positioned for the next chapter in their story.

They are seeking a new Finance Director due to retirement of their current long-standing FD and you will work closely together for a short period, ensuring a smooth transition.

Moving forwards, you will be a strong sounding board to the highly experienced, engaging MD and the rest of the commercially astute senior leadership team.

As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the company’s financial health and play a key role in helping to deliver profitable growth. Working closely with the international management team and the U.S. based parent company, you will be expected to provide first class strategic and operational advice.

There is a strong team in place, however you also need to strike that well-known balance within any SME of being hands-on and adopting a pragmatic approach with the day-to-day transactional requirements.

To further ensure your chances of success and job satisfaction, you will ideally have worked within a multicurrency, international SME with a turnover in excess of £20m and c40+ employees, where you will have gained a solid understanding of UK GAAP.

As with any position at this level, THE most important element will be the chemistry with the SLT. If you have a collaborative, engaging style, with a ‘hands-on’ approach this could be an ideal match.

The successful individual who will be able to help to shape the current and future financial performance of the business, and be given the autonomy to put their stamp on it.

KEY TASKS INCLUDE

Providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the group’s financial commitments are met.

To maintain and develop external relationships with professional advisors, bankers, customers, suppliers and owners ensuring beneficial outcomes for the Company

To provide advice to the owners, directors and wider management team on financial, commercial, legal and other regulatory matters

To provide ad hoc and regular financial information for the board

To oversee payroll and ensure compliance with tax rules and other such regulations wherever the company operates

With the external advisors, produce statutory accounts and other tax/regulatory reports in a timely manner

To serve on the board as a statutory Director.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with previous experience operating within a growth SME
  • Possess a strong work ethic demonstrating resilience and integrity and not be afraid to challenge the status quo
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring relevant information is summarised in a logical way and targeted to the relevant audience
  • Solid experience managing Pay & Reward, including overseeing payroll
  • A minimum of 3-5 years working as an FD/CFO/Head Of Finance/FC
  • A sense of humour!
