Head Of Finance & Operations - Up to £60,000 p.a.
Are you an engaging, experienced Finance Manager/Financial Controller/Head Of Finance, with a background gained within a growth SME?
With decades of industry experience between them, the highly engaging Senior Leadership Team have built an established, respected and innovative market leading Company within a dynamic sector.
Their finance function already has robust controls, processes and procedures and, due to the relocation of the current post holder, they now require a new, qualified, Head Of Finance and Operations.
If you can embrace, understand and subsequently review the existing structure and subsequently identify and recommend and driving on-going improvements, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.
You will need to provide commercially insightful information and recommendations to the board, ensure technical compliance/best practice and be able to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and from externally, including Plc board level contacts. Overseeing all aspects of financial control, compliance, statutory accounting and Year End as well as budgeting and forecasting. You will be involved in managing relationships with the banks, external accountants, HMRC and other external bodies.
Whilst the business has transactional and administrative support, given the size of the organisation at present, you will need to have a very hands-on approach and part of your remit is to ensure the smooth running of the business/office.
Moving forwards, you will be expected to provide insight in connection to new business pricing, possible joint ventures, new revenue streams etc.
Too many adverts call roles ‘exciting’ without qualifying that statement and this is one of the rare occasions where this is applicable. The Management Team are insightful, supportive, highly credible and are very open to ideas and support. The business is in a phenomenal position within a largely untapped market and the people within the business are truly lovely!
The business use Xero Accounting software and being I.T. literate, especially being highly adept with Excel is a prerequisite.
Key Duties
• Responsibility for preparing financial statements and accounts.
• Month end processes.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Supporting and, where relevant, coaching the Credit Control/Payroll and Bookkeeping personnel.
• Close liaison with external accountants.
• Analyse financial information/reports to improve profitability.
• Business Partner with non-finance stakeholders.
• Attend and report at monthly board meetings.
• Oversee and ensure the smooth operation of the office.
About you
• You need to be fully Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Xero experience is preferred (but not essential).
