This £50-70m t/o pharmaceutical business have been established for over 50 years, researching and developing innovative treatments.  With around 300 in their team, they are now seeking a commercial finance professional who will thrive on partnering with their driven SLT and be part of a ‘best-in-class’ finance function.

Based in Hertfordshire, the role will offer the chance to work on a hybrid approach once you have become established and understood the culture, the role the business and the stakeholders involved.

With this strong foothold in their sector and a track record of consistently delivering innovative products, they are now positioned for the next chapter in their story.

As the new Head of FP&A, you will be a key part of this.

 

Being one of the few independent UK businesses in the sector, you have the opportunity to make a real difference.

Managing & mentoring an established FC who ensures the effective running of the Finance Department on a daily basis, you will be partnering with the Managing CEO, taking an oversight of HR, I.T. and other operational functions all being part of your wider remit.

Initially, the role is also working closely with the current HoFA who is retiring and is keen to ensure a smooth hand over to their replacement. You will be tasked with reviewing all processes, procedures and ensuring efficiency and robust structures in all areas of your responsibility.

To be successful in this position, you must have a collaborative style and a desire that matches the SLT’s vision of driving improvements and change swiftly and to tight deadlines.

Naturally, success in scenarios such as this, tend to combine previous experience with a can-do, driven mindset. You are likely to have a background of successful systems improvements and implementations in a multi-entity environment. Clearly in a role such as this, your ability to effectively communicate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders alike, will be key to your success.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant who realises that pace and an intelligent approach are paramount
  • A proven ability to remain focused and be a completer-finisher who can work effectively at pace
  • A history of tenacity, tact and commerciality
  • Experience within a related business or services
  • Strong I.T. Skills with a knowledge of the challenges within the pharmaceutical sector
  • An effective communicator who can summarise financial information in a logical way and targeted to the relevant audience
  • A proven background of taking a pragmatic and commercial approach to cost management
  • A positive, collaborative approach and an engaging personality!
  • Experience of managing HR
