Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.

You may ask yourself why a recruitment company has this as the ‘header’ of their latest post but it’s quite incredible how a child’s book and it’s underlying meaning can resonate through a business at different stages.

At the start of this year BondMoran had a ‘hiccup’ that could have had many a company left with an almighty sinking feeling, that head in hands type pose where you can only look down and looking up is just not an option.

Not us.

It’s all about how you focus and transform your energy into a journey less planned but through fun times and ultimately triumphs. This book by Dr Seuss was sent to us by a key person in our development and he, and his team, have been crucial as a strengthening backbone to our BondMoran model.

Obviously our first impression was a minor chuckle but after reading the book about life’s adventures I understood why James Osborne and the TRN team had sent it to us.

Back in January, taking a big breath in and dealing with the sudden loss of two of our core staff felt like a chore and a half….a mountain that we didn’t yet want to climb.

It’s a well trodden path and staff can occasionally feel they can learn your bonkers methods, techniques, ‘know hows’ and secrets and set up in direct competition, it happens all the time…..but never before to us!

This is where we pulled this book off the shelf, re-read it and super charged our turbo batteries. We imagined that our socks would be pulled up again by July at least, but by the beginning of March we’ve turned things around, we have two new ‘family members’ who are beyond brilliant and we’ve had the best 2 months in our work history……

BOOM!

So really this is my cheesy post to say thank you. It may come across as unprofessional with the children’s illustrations but when you truly search for something, you can often find it hiding in the strangest places .
Without running around and man-hugging everyone who has stood by me while I’ve ‘re-lit my streetlights’, please accept this writing as virtual gratitude for always.

And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go!”
